A lifestyle session is documentary photography adjacent. With documentary work, the photographer is an observer. There’s no posing, no guidance, no interrupting - it’s completely unscripted. With lifestyle photography, the photographer offers some guidance and direction creating a balance of posed and candid moments.

That depends on the type of session you’re looking to book and the types of photographs you’d like me to create. My shortest sessions are one hour, but most sessions land between two and two and a half hours. Truthfully, I’m pretty flexible with session duration.

I’ve been in the industry for over a decade and I’ve learned what type of photography brings me joy as an artist and traditional family portraits ain’t it. If you’re on the market for posed pictures of your family in matching attire in front of an idyllic maple tree, I can direct you to some talented photographers. But if you’re looking for a session that highlights the personalities in your family and documents the energy and trueness of who you all are together then let’s talk! My family sessions typically take place at your home, inside or outside (or both!). I don’t care if your table is covered in homework or this morning’s breakfast dishes. I don’t care that you haven’t found the time to mow your lawn or replace the shutter the last wind storm blew off your house. These photos are about capturing your family’s reality now so they can become part of your legacy later.

I sure can! I’ll send you a guide to help you with this part of the process. Despite what social media tells you, your comfort is WAY more important than aesthetic. Whatever you choose to wear should make you feel like you.

I offer both! Every session will be delivered via an online gallery. Each gallery is password protected and comes with a four-digit download code. You should download all of your images to ensure safe keeping as galleries expire after one year. Digital downloads come with your session; there’s no limit on how many times you can download your files.

For prints, each gallery is linked directly to my preferred professional lab. While you don’t have to print your images through the lab, I recommend you do as my lab prints to the highest industry standards ensuring that your prints look like my edits. All prints are printed on archival quality paper and when taken care of properly will last a minimum of 100 years.
